About this test

Panleukopenia, the feline parvovirus, is a highly contagious and often fatal infection of unvaccinated kittens and cats. It causes vomiting, diarrhoea and a very low white-cell count. This rapid test finds the virus in a stool sample.

Before the test

A fresh stool sample, or a rectal swab taken by our phlebotomist.

Good to know

A vaccination in the last 2 weeks can make the test read positive.
Keep a sick kitten away from other cats: the virus survives for months around the house.
