About this test

A cheek swab that reads your pet's DNA to work out its breed mix, useful for mixed-breed and rescue dogs and cats. Knowing the breeds in the mix can also flag health conditions those breeds are prone to, worth discussing with your vet.

Before the test

Keep food, treats, water and chew toys away for 30 minutes before the swab, so the saliva isn't diluted.

Good to know

It identifies breeds, not diseases: it is not a genetic health screen for your pet.
Mixed-breed pets often turn up a surprise breed or two in the mix; it doesn't change anything about their health, just what shows on the report.
