House dust mites, pollens, moulds and fleas: the allergens behind itchy skin.

About this test

Measures your dog's antibodies to common environmental allergens. It is used once your vet has diagnosed atopic dermatitis (allergic, itchy skin), to choose the allergens for desensitisation treatment; it doesn't diagnose the allergy by itself.

House dust and storage mites
Grass, weed and tree pollens
Moulds
Flea saliva

Before the test

Some steroid and allergy medicines have to be stopped weeks before the test: ask your vet first.

Good to know

Food allergy can't be diagnosed reliably from blood: it takes an elimination diet of about 8 weeks that your vet plans.
